Phuket Hosts Asean Plus 3 HIV Health Conference

PHUKET: An international conference involving health officials from all 10 Asean countries plus China, Japan and South Korea gets underway tomorrow on Phuket.

The 'Asean City Getting to Zero' conference will concentrate on the fight against HIV with most events held at the Movenpick Resort in Karon.

On Friday, the Health Ministers from all 13 countries will be convening.

Officials report that many of the delegates have been accompanied to Phuket by their families.

A visit to Patong Hospital will be part of the program with human rights, human security, social protection and sustainable development all on the agenda.

The Asean countries are Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, Burma, Philippines and Singapore.
